I believe Lubbock schools are the cornerstone of our community. When we work together to ensure every child has access to the same opportunities, we create engaged citizens who are prepared to enter society and the workforce with all the skills they will need to be successful. Ensuring this future for our students means equipping schools and teachers with the time and resources they need to do get the job done.
Advocating for teachers will be paramount to success. We are seeing our excellent teachers getting burnt out and leaving the profession at record rates. We need to listen to their concerns and improve our system so that expectations are reasonable and achievable. Our education system rests on the backs of our teachers an it's time we start trying to share the load.
